Cheech the dog was rescued while walking alone through the streets of Texas, taken to a large shelter, and then sent to the newly established City of Waller Animal Rescue facility.
Some staff members were concerned that the tiny pooch would be intimidated and hence refused to allow anybody close to him.
But surprise, surprise… Little Cheech truly gave his rescuers the cutest smile, and they were all in wonder!
Leah Sipe, head of the City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue, explained, “I went into the cage to check him out and shouted for another volunteer to come and look.
They assumed I was mad and that he was growling, and when I stuck my hand in the cage, I thought they were going to pass out.” He’s as nice as they come!
Cheech’s image was shared on Facebook in the hopes of finding him a permanent home!
And then… Thousands of requests were received, but the dog with the smile was eventually won by a lady who had recently lost one of her dogs to cancer and wanted a new friend for her other dog, Dusty.
