Senior animals in animal shelters all across the world are healthy and active, yearning for a loving owner and a forever home. However, the sad truth is that these dogs are frequently the last to be adopted — and the first to be euthanized.
The guy told The Dodo, “I grew up with lots of pets.” “My parents were both animal lovers, and they quite much always let me have anything I wanted as long as I could care for it.”
Well, one man is attempting to raise awareness of the benefits of adopting older animals by utilizing the power of social media. Steve Greig, a 52-year-old pet enthusiast, can’t stop bringing senior pets into his downtown Denver home. So far, he’s adopted ten senior dogs, four chickens, two ducks, a bunny, and a pig.
Steve set up an Instagram account to highlight how awesome life can be with senior animals that no one else wants, and he continually publishes emotional photographs of himself with his large family of furry and feathery companions.
“Once you reach a certain age, you somewhat know what you want out of life,” he remarked. “These older dogs know who they are, and it’s simple to form a bond with someone or a pet who knows who they are.” It’s very satisfying to know that these gorgeous animals are happy, loved, and well-cared for. It adds meaning to my days.”
The “gang” has amassed a sizable following on Instagram, where they currently have around 1 million followers. If you want to see what life is like with 10 senior dogs, four hens, two ducks, a bunny, and a pig, watch the video below.
