The love we have for others often necessitates significant sacrifices, and this child was willing to give up everything for his puppy in order to ensure his safety and good care.
A 12-year-old Mexican kid abandoned his pet in front of a local shelter. When the staff at the Refugio Xollin discovered him, he was in a box with a stuffed animal by his side. However, they only realize the truth about that decision after reading the note attached to the package…
Andrés, the youngster, has apparently decided to donate his beloved fur companion to the shelter in order to protect him from his father’s maltreatment. The caregivers at the shelter were so moved by the boy’s generosity that they decided to share the devastating note on Facebook after taking in the puppy.
“Someone placed this dog at the shelter’s door, inside a box, with a plush toy and a note,” the shelter explained. “The note was written by a child, who indicated that his father was constantly hitting the dog and was preparing to sell him.” So, in such a condition of desperation, he left the dog here to save him.”
The 12-year-old boy opted to give up on the dog out of love for him, knowing he would be safe and surrounded by love and compassion. The boy’s tremendous selflessness touched the hearts of the shelter’s workers and everyone who read his thoughts.
“My name is Andrés, and I am 12 years old,” reads the note, which was initially written in Spanish. “My mother and I decided to put my dog in your care, keeping it hidden from my father, who is considering selling him.” But he mistreats and kicks him. He once kicked him so hard that he injured his tail. I’m hoping you can assist and care for him. I gave him a teddy animal so he wouldn’t forget about me.”
The puppy, who was finally called Rene, is now in extremely capable hands. A medical examination revealed that he is also in good physical and mental health. Even though he appreciates the love he’s received at the shelter, for the time being, it won’t be long before he finds a wonderful family to adopt him…
