When Matt Bentley was four-wheeling in Utah’s Salt Flats, he came across an animal in serious need of assistance. In the middle of the wilderness, this bald, malnourished dog started racing down the trail. Matt was appalled. What was the origin of this dog? She was in such bad shape that Matt had no idea she was a dog at first!
Matt took her to the Utah Animal Adoption Center and begged them to take her. They immediately reached an agreement. This poor dog required extensive medical attention. Soon after, a woman named Jamie heard about the “doggy warrior” and decided to give her time to help the dog navigate the difficult journey ahead. Jamie also named the adorable puppy Kelly.
Jamie drove to the center for the first time to meet Kelly in person. They had an instant connection. Kelly was extremely pleasant, despite the pain she must have been in and whatever past trauma she was dealing with. She approached Jamie, wagging her tail and begging to be pet. Jamie and I hit it off right away!
Kelly dove headfirst into her recovery. She made amazing progress in a short period of time. She was so eager to get better and start her new life. Jamie watched as Kelly fought to recover, knowing that as soon as she was ready, Jamie would adopt her and take her home.
Kelly had a fantastic first day at her new home! She strolled in the front door as if the house had always belonged to her. Rocky, Jamie’s dog, eagerly greeted Kelly. They appear to have been destined to be siblings as well! Rocky showed Kelly around the area, and the two became inseparable from then on! They even dislike sleeping apart, as evidenced by the video below. It’s just lovely!
Kelly’s recuperation progressed as time passed! Her fur grew back completely in fifteen months, and her health was superb. Jamie is so grateful for everything Matt has done for her that she wishes to reconnect them. Of course, Matt agreed!
Matt is taken aback when he sees Kelly. It would be an understatement to say she was transformed! Jamie repeatedly thanks Matt for saving Kelly’s life. Matt can’t help but cry a little.
