Firefighters put their own lives in danger to save ours. And it’s not just humans they’re assisting; they’re also assisting animals. So, if people are so grateful to these great heroes, how can a dog be any different? This rescue dog in Maine picked the cutest way to thank the firefighters who saved his life. And it’s a truly heartwarming moment.
When a passerby noticed a Husky stranded on the roof of a house, they promptly contacted the police. Captain Jeff Nawfel of the Wells Police Department in Maine arrived shortly after. The seasoned first responder took far too long to tackle the situation. After a few minutes, he was able to secure free the trapped dog.
“The dog was pacing back and forth on the porch overhang,” skipper Nawfel explained to InsideEdition. “It didn’t appear to be distressed.” The dog, on the other hand, left everyone in the room stunned with the manner he acknowledged Captain Nawfel. With a hearty kiss, he expressed his gratitude to his rescuer. Fortunately, the touching moment was captured on video, and the gorgeous photos were then shared on social media.
“Through an upper window, this lovely puppy managed to escape onto the roof of his house.” We got a lot of calls…” Wells Maine Police Department posted on Facebook. “Officer McDonald and the Wells Fire Department worked together to rescue him!” Thank you to everyone who called and helped save him.” According to the fire service, the unfortunate dog climbed onto the roof through an open window.
