She and her companion were out walking in the afternoon when they heard crying in the distance.
They tried to follow the sound and were astounded by what they saw!
Four puppies, all less than a month old, were left alone.
There was no sign of the mother dog. How could someone leave their puppies in such a state? The two ladies promptly dialed the number for the local rescue group.
Rescuers were dispatched shortly. Each puppy was reared by the caring mother to be examined. Fortunately, she has a lot of experience with animals that have been hurled like this, and she is anxious to assist them.
She witnessed the puppies being devoured by ticks. Oh, the babies!
Two of the pups had to be thinner than the other two. Their condition was quite concerning. They placed the puppies in a pail and transported them to the veterinary facility.
Two of the puppies were cleared by the vet to travel to the rescue shelter.
He stated that they needed more calories and tick medication, but that they were otherwise well.
2 of the puppies had to be admitted to the clinic. Because of the bug bites and malnourishment, they were dangerously anemic. They required additional TLC as well as blood transfusions.
We can’t imagine how terrified these puppies were. They’re very tiny and belong to their mother.
We are happy that the rescuers took turns caring for two puppies at the veterinarian while they were receiving therapy.
Two healthier puppies have already been placed in foster care and are doing well.
The other two canines are presently being treated at a veterinarian facility, but they are improving every day.
The puppies were revived through blood transfusions. All have been treated for parasites and are tick-free.
