Because of their dedication and unconditional love, we refer to dogs as men’s best companions. But how do we thank their extraordinary loyalty? Most of us probably won’t, but this woman certainly does!
Photographer Omar Camarillo recorded an elderly woman living on the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, with nothing but a plastic bag to shelter herself from the cold and rain in a series of distressing images. Even though it seems disturbing, the tale behind it is really heartwarming. A genuine expression of love and compassion. She always assures her dogs eat, and then she worries about her.
Chole was approached by the local police after Camarillo surprised the moving scenes. Despite the police’ best efforts, she refused to enter a shelter. And the explanation is incredible: the shelter refuses to let in her pet dogs.
“I don’t want to go, I don’t need assistance, I’m good here,” she allegedly told the cops.
The woman eventually agreed to spend the night at her son’s house, but the next morning she was back on the street with her dogs. Her moving story went viral on Facebook, and many people decided to assist her. Among them was Alejandra Cordova Castro, who was awestruck by Chole’s commitment to her devoted pals.
“Her devotion to her dogs warmed my heart,” Alejandra said on Facebook. “I’ve always believed that if you can’t love an animal, you don’t know how to love.”
