Digby, a therapy dog, came to the help of a young woman who was attempting suicide on a road bridge.
Emergency personnel was dispatched to the location.
Firefighters spoke with the lady, but the situation became increasingly dangerous.
Digby was brought in by one of the rescue groups to help calm the woman down.
Amazingly, this helped: the lady turned her head and smiled as soon as he came.
She was told the incredible story of the pup.
Digby, a cockapoo therapy animal (a cross between a spaniel and a poodle), has been with the fire dept since 2018.
When the young lady was offered the chance to meet the dog, she consented and climbed down from the balcony.
Rescuers escorted her to safety. She is now under the care of psychiatrists.
