With Aardvark, you get exactly what you see: a humorous, charming dog who is just as bad on the inside as he is on the exterior.
In January, a Good Samaritan rescued Aardvark from the streets of Baltimore City and transported him to the Maryland SPCA (MDSPCA). When the sanctum staff saw a 50-pound dog with a cartoon face and flipper-like paws, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
“Actually, nothing could take him seriously,” Brittany Roger, a digital expert with the MD SPCA, told The Dodo. ” His physical look and demeanor elicited a lot of horselaughs.”
The sanctum’s vets examined Aardvark when he was barely 8 months old, and his small lower jaw had been with him since birth. “The majority of people believe he was in a car accident,” Roger added. ” Even so, they’re relieved to find that he was merely born that alluring.”
Aardvark’s facial deformities do not appear to affect him or prevent him from being a model citizen. “Not only does he eat well, but he also enjoys biting on effects — in a non-destructive manner,” Roger explained. “He’s happy and healthy, which only adds to his adorable antics.”
The only thing better than Aardvark’s interesting aesthetics is his laid-back demeanor. The odd canine simply appears to be delighted to be in the company of those who keep an eye on him and enjoy his companionship.
“A vibrant, joyful, outgoing little child,” Roger described him. “Since he isn’t troubled by anything, we have a lot of fun dressing him up and taking him around.”
Sadly, Aardvark has had a difficult time finding a permanent residence. Per the sanctum, he’s a “one-size-fits-all” dog who’s “so chummy that (he) could come musketeers with a slipup wall,” but implicit adopters keep failing him.
“He’s had a lot of operations,” Roger explained, “but they continue to fall through for one reason or another.” ” It isn’t his fault, but he was dealt a bad hand.”
Hoping, Aardvark will find a house soon and be able to give all of his love to somebody who appreciates him for the one-of-a-kind dog that he is.
