Madelyn, a five-year-old girl, was found in the woods in October 2020.
The dog was in such bad shape that he could barely move…
She had entirely lost her hair and was covered in itching blisters due to a skin ailment.
The dog was sent to a partner shelter by volunteers from ThisIsHouston, a non-profit group dedicated to animal welfare.
Even looking at Madelyn ached. Her entire body ached and burned, and her eyes were vacant and distant as if she didn’t want to live any longer.
This frequently occurs, according to the shelter workers, when no one pays care to the animal for an extended period of time.
“All this little child has known is agony and sorrow her entire life.” The volunteers described the ward as “nobody needed her for five years.”
Madelyn revealed major health issues throughout the examination, including cardiomegaly, heartworm disease, hookworms, chronic dry eye condition, and sarcoptic mange.
All of this necessitated extensive treatment and upkeep.
Fortunately, the dog was rescued in time, and her presence at the shelter was possibly the most positive event in her otherwise tragic life.
ThisIsHouston volunteers lavished attention, care, and love on the new ward.
They attempted to pamper her and demonstrate that she had a cause to fight for.
They put a warm T-shirt on the dog to keep her warm. Her wounds were cleaned on a daily basis, and she was given therapeutic baths.
Madeline was soon able to secure a temporary residence where she could dwell in warmth and comfort.
The dog blossomed as a result of the dog’s care and love. She began to alter both on the outside and within.
Madeleine is no longer identifiable, despite the fact that it may take months for her to fully heal.
Her temporary owners described her as a sociable dog who loves attention and company.
Madelyn will be sterilized and placed in a forever home once her skin has healed completely and the doctors have completed her heartworm treatment.
Volunteers are certain that they will not have to wait long because this dog has returned to trusting humans and is eager to love, implying that the owner will be found.
