The dog was sent to a partner shelter by volunteers from ThisIsHouston, a non-profit group dedicated to animal welfare.

ThisIsHouston volunteers lavished attention, care, and love on the new ward.
They attempted to pamper her and demonstrate that she had a cause to fight for.
They put a warm T-shirt on the dog to keep her warm. Her wounds were cleaned on a daily basis, and she was given therapeutic baths.
Madeline was soon able to secure a temporary residence where she could dwell in warmth and comfort.
The dog blossomed as a result of the dog’s care and love. She began to alter both on the outside and within.
Madeleine is no longer identifiable, despite the fact that it may take months for her to fully heal.
Her temporary owners described her as a sociable dog who loves attention and company.
Madelyn will be sterilized and placed in a forever home once her skin has healed completely and the doctors have completed her heartworm treatment.
