Nickie was a regular German Shepherd on the streets. He had no family and preferred to live on the streets because it was more convenient. His paw was injured for unknown reasons, giving the dog pain.
After observing the paw, many people found Nickie and took him to the clinic. Veterinarians would gladly help the dog, but the people who found him lacked the financial means to do so. Because the dog could not be cured for free, the clinic was not able to help.
Following this incident, another person noticed the dog sleeping in the snow on the road. He didn’t allow his bewilderment to stop him from photographing Nickie and uploading it in a Facebook group with other volunteers who helped the animals.
Volunteers got aware of the dog as a result of this group. The required amount of money was raised in a short period of time with the help of the fund that they formed.
Nickie recovered, and new owners were found quickly. Many people expressed interest in becoming a part of his new family and caring for the dog. As a result, the puppy was handed to people who wanted to adopt him right away.
Marlene is his new name, given to him by his new owners. The process of adaptation was not without its difficulties. The family also has many cats, who were first disgruntled with the new addition to the family.
The dog, on the other hand, was quite friendly and kind. Marlene quickly won the hearts of the kittens, and they were connected to him. Marlene was terrified of everything at first. Even the tiniest details and noises can be distracting. As a result, he left the house on a regular basis.
There were numerous challenges, but the dog with a caring family overcame them all. Marlene is currently living a fulfilling life. And the dog’s paw is in perfect condition, with no trace of Nickie’s past existence—not a broken paw, not an appearance, not even a name.
