We live in a world where there are a lot of decent people. Unfortunately, it’s mixed together with people who lack compassion, empathy, and, in this case, heart.
Bob Hoelter was going for a walk to a nearby store on a typical evening. He heard whimpering as he crossed a bridge to get there. Bob knew he had to examine the cries because they sounded desperate. He proceeded beneath the bridge in search of the source of the screams.
What he saw next was heartbreaking! All by himself was a scared puppy. Worst of all, he had his mouth taped shut!
After his callous owners duct-taped his mouth, the poor dog was ruthlessly thrown over the bridge.
Bob took him to Griffith Animal Hospital, where he was treated for an emergency. The medical team got to work on the poor puppy right away. They took off the tape that had been wrapped around his muzzle. They could see how terribly the tape had injured his face at that point. Antibiotic ointment was used, and pain injections were given.
They then gave him treatment for a broken leg. That would necessitate surgery. They placed him in a lovely kennel with a comfortable bed.
The puppy’s story went viral. Bob never told the vet personnel his name when he dropped the puppy off. He was just concerned with getting the small boy’s assistance, while the staff was concerned with saving his life. Although the puppy got a forever home, no one knew if Bob would ever come forward.
After seeing the tale on social media, a family member informed Bob that his heroic deeds had become the buzz of the internet.
Bob decided to pay a visit to the puppy, who had been given the name Louie. He wasn’t sure if Louie would remember him, but dogs have enormous hearts, and Bob was indelibly inscribed in his mind since he saved his life.
Louie couldn’t stop praising Bob by giving him the most delectable puppy kisses and lots of cuddles when he saw him.
Because of an everyday person who did something amazing, the small dog is still alive today. Thank goodness for happy endings!
