What Animals Do Right Before They Die Naturally, According to a Veterinarian…

It is almost probable that if you acquire a pet, you will outlive it. Seeing your pet die can be one of the most heartbreaking experiences a person can have. It’s almost as though you’re witnessing a family member or best friend die. It’s impossible not to be broken by sight in their eyes, almost as if they’re saying they’ll miss you and don’t want to die.

That is likely why many pet owners would prefer to wait outside as the veterinarians euthanize the unfortunate creatures. Others have joined in to plead with pet owners after one veterinarian recently shed some light on the subject.

When a woman called Jessi posted a PSA on social media about her visit to the vet with her cat Rick, the issue was brought to light. Jessi stated that she adored her cat and that, despite his little size, he had a charming demeanor.

Her cat was characterized as an adorable animal anybody would love to have on their lap when they returned home from a long day at work.

Rick, the black and white cat, was just two and a half years old at the time of his death. He had chronic urinal tract issues and at least twice a month, acquired urinary tract infections (UTIs). Even though he was never in pain, Jessi took him to the vet on a regular basis to have him looked up and given the proper medication.

The cat had almost died over a year and a half ago due to a clog in the system, and the vet had to conduct emergency surgery, which, while successful, meant Rick would be at an elevated risk of contracting the infection for the rest of his life.

During Rick’s routine check-up, Jessi struck up a conversation with the vet, and what he said shattered her heart. She promised herself that she would give her cat all the love she could and that she would be there for him when the time came. She took to Facebook to voice her concern and to share the veterinarian’s message with the rest of the globe.

When Jessi asked the vet what the most difficult part of his work was, she anticipated him to say something about obstinate animals or anything along those lines. Rather, he stated it was when he had to put animals down. Most of the time, their owners were not present, and they would spend their final moments searching for them, unable to find consolation in being held by their closest friends.

When she shared it on social media, it quickly went viral, garnering tens of thousands of likes and shares. Some veterinarians chimed up with similar worries, reminding people that their pets’ existence revolved around them and that they needed to be the last thing they saw before they passed.

Jessi made a commitment to herself and her cat that if she had to take him to be euthanized, she would hold him and hug him the entire time, keeping her favorite toys nearby so he wouldn’t die searching for her. Be there for your pet in the dying hours of his life, no matter how sad it is…
