Luna, a one-year-old Australian Shepherd puppy, bolted from the yard and fled in an unknown direction.
Luna was spared because of her incredible and strong friendship with the family’s youngest member, Bowen, who is eight years old.
The dog went missing on Saturday afternoon, and the entire weekend was spent looking for him.
Sandra Colston, a missing pet specialist, was enlisted to assist the family, and she created a helpful search map with crucial sites.
They set up a trap with their garments, hoping that Luna would come out for a familiar scent. None of this, however, was successful.
The owners were even concerned that the dog had strayed from its home territory and would soon need to be tracked down on the other side of the state.
Furthermore, the dog is a great victim of dog thieves because it is thoroughbred and young. Fortunately, the camera caught a glimpse of the dog nearby.
Luna’s owner’s son-in-law and niece arrived shortly after.
The shepherd was addressed by name, but she fled in fear…
Luna did not answer her name, and her canine buddies from a nearby yard were similarly unsuccessful in luring her out of hiding.
The family ventured out again on Monday, with sister Myers, her ten-year-old daughter, and the family’s youngest member, six-month-old Bowen, sitting in the truck while the rest of them explored the area on foot.
When the baby started fussing as they were about to depart, the aunt hoisted him higher.
Bowen yelled after that.
A miracle occurred at that same moment. Luna took a timid step out of her hiding spot as if she wanted to see who was bothering her small pal.
She was apprehended, led home on a leash.
Luna reverted to her previous playful puppy self, preferring to be scratched behind the ears than running about alone on the street…
