These 2 puppies belonged to a homeless guy who was caught this morning; by the time they were arrested, they were cold.
They arrived at a location where someone was able to assist them in stabilizing their situation. We don’t have much support with the new babies, but we’re going to give them the best chance at recovery. They’re almost to virgie 24 hours a day, and we’ve given them the names Donny and Marie. Donnie and Marie are now virgi 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Their post-prandial negative glucose vitals and temperatures are very normal. They’re laterally recumbent, but they’ll be doing blood tests, so they’re still quite important.
Day one: Donny and Marie survived the night, and their vitals, blood work, and temperatures were all normal when they arrived yesterday. Donny was quite passive last night, while Marie was moving about and making noises, however, Donny is more active today than Marie. They’re both holding their own, with little desire to eat or be bottle-fed, therefore NG tubes have been implanted in both pups.
Donny and Marie are still holding in there on day three. Since starting Danny on Keppra, he hasn’t had yet another seizure… Donny and Marie will both be getting some other blood transfusion today.
Day 5: Donny and Marie released Vergi from his 24-hour care. Today Marie had some seizure-like activity. She whimpered and then stiffened her arms, but she didn’t convulse, and Donny has been acting perfectly normal since then. Both of them will be seen by a neurology specialist.
We’re hopeful these little ones continue to thrive now that they’ve made it this far! They have a good appetite, so that’s a plus! We’re still praying for Donnie and Marie.
Day 26: They’re currently about 6 weeks old and doing fantastically!
They are obviously Pittie mixes, and none of them is showing any signs of neurological problems.
These lads were clinging to life after being discovered with a homeless man’s stuff after his incarceration.
We were really anxious about them since they were freezing with white gums. We didn’t believe these folks would make it, but they fought valiantly.
They are now completely healthy and available for adoption.
