When Neno’s owners could no longer afford to care for him, they opted to surrender him to Fort Worth Animal Care and Control in the hopes of finding him a new home that would be willing to care for him and his medical needs.
Neno, on the other hand, was taken aback when he was dropped off at the shelter. Neno began to shiver excessively as he was trapped in an enclosed space and surrounded by dozens of barking dogs…
Paige King, a shelter worker, noticed Neno sitting in the middle of the kennel, his knees tucked together. To avoid looking at her, he would move his head to the side.
Paige made a video of the shivering puppy and posted it on Facebook after seeing him in this situation. After the post went viral, a few others decided to pay Neno a visit.
Everyone, with the exception of Laura Rodgers, decided against adopting him. Neno’s gait was very shaky when the shelter employees and Laura led him outside.
Laura felt Neno had a neurological problem, which is why he was surrendered to begin with. She, on the other hand, desired to give Neno a new lease on life. She had cried the first time she saw Neno shivering on tape. She had no choice but to give this dog another opportunity.
Laura took Neno to the vet after adopting him. Neno was found to be anemic due to a tick infestation, as well as having an underactive thyroid that required to be regulated. He was also infected with heartworm. All of this occurred before they were even able to do any neurological exams!
Laura, on the other hand, is committed to assisting Neno in his recovery. Neno is getting better every day, and he is enjoying his new home and family. We are grateful that Laura welcomed Neno into her heart and home!
