While on a journey down the Amazon River, a man discovered a dog trapped on an island and knew he would have to save her.
When David Foster first saw the abandoned, malnourished dog on the island in the middle of the Amazon jungle, he was on a river cruise. “All I could see when she came racing down the shore was this skeletal body,” he added.
He understood he couldn’t leave the puppy behind in an instant, but rescuing her wasn’t going to be easy.

Negrita was rescued 5 months ago from David’s rescue charity, Play For Strays. Northern Ireland is now her home, and David is her father. She even understands her first English word, “reward.”
