On the day of a flood, a rescue team saves a dog tied to a porch… Read the wonderful rescue story here!

Hundreds of people were forced to flee their homes when the floods of the Brazos River in Texas surged to dangerously high levels. Deluge victims only had time to get a few of their most valuable effects before they escaped.

It goes without saying that most people would flee to higher ground with their animals with them. Unfortunately, some people believe that empathy for their own creatures is justified. One victim of this heinous thinking was a small dog who was abandoned by her owners when they fled the scene.

The owners of this dog, however, did not abandon her. They tied her up so she couldn’t get away as the water level rose higher and higher. The reasons for the canine’s owners abandoning her are unknown, but she would have faced certain death as the water began to swallow her home.

But, just as things were about to get worse, hope in the form of a news crew came. When the battalion noticed the poor canine while creating the deluge from a boat, they decided they couldn’t let her die there.

Two platoon members stepped out of the boat and waded toward the dog without hesitation. The water had risen to just below the canine’s nose by that time, and they arrived just in time to save the lucky dog.

The canine was drenched, startled, and bewildered by her ordeal, so the battalion made it a point to get her to a doctor so she could get the help she needed. The canine would have died if it hadn’t been for the news platoon’s antics, according to the veterinarian who looked after her.

Watch the video to see how, after receiving a lot of love and care, the wonderful canine has regained her energy and is now looking for a new home.
