Layla was frightened and nervous when she was picked up by Beaumont Animal Care in Texas at the age of seven weeks. Her young, frail body had already endured a great deal.
Rachel Barron, a vet tech, noticed how distressed the puppy was. Rachel only wanted to put her at ease. Rachel, on the other hand, went a step further. Layla beamed a smile that could soften even the coldest hearts by chatting to her in “baby-talk.”
Rachel was lucky enough to have her phone with her and was able to video the entire event. Layla’s shift in behavior demonstrated to the rest of the world how much kindness meant to a fearful puppy like her. Her tail wags and smile are a sight to behold!
Layla was prepared to be adopted once she was old enough and in better condition. Of course, since Layla’s video was shared (and shared) on media platforms, she received a flood of applications. Nicole Toney and her spouse, who had already rescued many dogs and cats, were discovered to be the perfect match.
The Toney family and Layla hit it off right away, just as the animal hospital had predicted. Lady, one of their rescue dogs, was particularly taken to Layla, and the two quickly became friends. The pair claimed that Lady had just given birth just before being rescued and that Layla reminded her of her children.
Layla is just one of the many animals at shelters who are in desperate need of a home. While she found her happily ever after, many others are still waiting.
Please consider adopting if you have room in your heart and house. Consider sharing Layla’s story if your heart and house are already full. All animals are entitled to the greatest possible life.
Thank you to The Dodo for creating the cute video about Layla and her new fantastic life, which you can see below. Enjoy!
