A swearing-in ceremony is an important event for everyone, and it necessitates a great deal of responsibility and focus. However, things did not go according to plan for a cute police pooch on his special day!
To become K9 dogs, these puppies must first achieve some very rigorous standards. Because they’re about to become vital entities tasked with assisting individuals with medical and developmental concerns or playing key roles in police investigations, they’ll need a unique set of skills.
With a puppy, though, you can never be too sure. And the Bristol Police Department in Rhode Island has discovered firsthand how unpredictable dogs can be. They were preparing to recruit a new therapy dog named Brody, but the ceremony for his swearing-in went horribly wrong.
The adorable little puppy seemed to have forgotten about the appropriate demeanor for such an occasion, and he simply slept the entire time. To cap it off, the lavish affair was streamed live on Facebook.
Despite the fact that his first impression wasn’t what he had hoped for, Chief Kevin Lynch remains optimistic about Brody’s future contribution. He said, “I knew we had a winning formula for the town.” “This is a great example of how to make a difference. For the city of Bristol, he’ll be a superstar. You can count on it.” Fortunately, the adorable Brody awoke just in time!
Brody’s fondness for sleeping appears to be nothing new. Officer Keith Medeiros, his handler, told The Dodo, “He plays pretty hard and he sleeps really hard.” “When he isn’t playing, he is napping, which is a challenge because he sleeps a lot.” We sat him down at the desk, and he was so relaxed that he promptly fell asleep.”
