A shelter is not a good place for a dog to spend his or her life, yet it is a reality for hundreds of thousands of canines around the world.
Thanks to Mark Starmer and his wife Sharon, these 45 dogs (and a grey wolf) no longer have to spend their days caged up in a shelter.
Because many shelter dogs are overlooked because of their age or health difficulties, Mark and Sharon make it their mission to find and adopt these pups. Nobody else would offer them a second opportunity at life as the couple does. They first acquired a puppy in 2004 and haven’t stopped since.
Now, the Starmers have 45 rescue dogs, along with a grey wolf, who are allowed to wander freely on their four-acre property in British Columbia, Canada.
Mark opens the gate, followed by an exuberant stampede of his dogs, who run out onto the property in the video below. While they enjoy running and playing outside, they also have the opportunity of relaxing with the Starmers inside their house. These dogs are unquestionably indulged and adored!
Among some of the breeds in their group are a rescued grey wolf, a Portuguese Water Dog, a Shar-Pei, two Poodles, four St. Bernards, and ten Siberian Huskies.
