The life of a dog named Billy became a “Groundhog Day” after a 55-year-old Lombardy resident – Marco Maiolani – became ill with coronavirus and ended up in the hospital.

The dog has been sitting at the front door of the house for two months, waiting for the owner.

Marco’s grandchildren are continually trying to get the dog to come inside, but he only agrees to do so at night.

He’s there at the door in the morning, waiting for the door to be opened for him so he can go out onto the porch, grab a favorite blanket, and keep an eye out for his owner all day.

Marco attempted to be treated at home after testing positive for COVID-19.

His condition worsened, and he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

The man had been fighting for his life for two months and had only lately recovered.

Doctors at Pavia’s St. Mark’s Hospital believe he will soon be able to return home and hug his devoted canine companion.

The family informs Marco that Billy is always waiting for him at the house.

These anecdotes touch a man’s heart and help him regain strength more quickly.

“I really miss him,” the Italian admits. “No one else compares to him.” I’ll be returning shortly, and I’ll be reunited with Billy.”

Billy begins to wail loudly and call for the owner as the dog grows desperate.

Marco’s relatives reassure the pet, assuring him that his pal is on the mend.

And it appears that he comprehends everything and anticipates their meeting.
