A dog that was saved from near-death and is now a buddy to an elderly pensioner… Here is the full story!

Reuben, a poor dog, was eaten alive by microscopic ticks.

He had no chance of survival as he wandered the streets of Romania.

Thankfully, someone saw an ill and emaciated dog in time and uploaded images of him on Facebook.

There, they met Felicity Hollings, a lonely pensioner from the English city of Norfolk.

The sight of this pitiful puppy made the woman’s heartbreak.

He had lost his fur and was covered in scabs due to disease.

Felicity had no qualms about sending money to volunteers collecting funds for Reuben’s therapy.

She also stated that if the mongrel was brought to her, she would be willing to take him in.

Fortunately, the dog was taken care of by REAN, a UK-based charity.

The volunteers were able to cover all of the expenditures related to the animal’s upkeep and medical treatment, as well as transfer him from Romania to England, thanks to generous donations.

Reuben looked considerably better by the time he met with the new owner, although he weighed a little less than the average – about 10 kilograms.

Both of them liked one other right away.

Felicity had no intention of keeping the dog permanently at first, but after gazing into his focused black eyes, she realized she was ready to become his family.

Reuben turned out to be a devoted companion.

Despite his ordeals, Reuben has retained his ability to love and trust others.

Felicity discovered communication with a dog to be her savior through difficult times when she was completely isolated owing to a coronavirus outbreak. In addition, she could now go outside for a short walk with her dog.

Since the puppy entered the 69-year-old pensioner’s home, she has been breathing new air every day, and the lonely woman has smiled for the first time in a long time.
