A 9-year-old girl writes a heartfelt letter to her teacher, lamenting the death of her dog… Here is the letter!

Gemma Dunne is a 5th-grade teacher from Scotland.

She would occasionally tell all of her students’ stories about her golden retriever, Charlie.

Charlie’s health began to deteriorate recently, and a visit to the veterinarian showed an incurable tumor.

It was necessary to euthanize the puppy.

When Gemma got to work, she felt she couldn’t keep what had happened to the kids, so she told them everything.

“They noticed how unhappy I was, and I had to explain everything to them.” “I talked about Charlie a lot and shared a lot of images and videos, so they knew who he was,” Gemma adds.

Of course, the kids were saddened by Charlie’s passing as well.

However, one of the students, Callum, a nine-year-old, felt that their teacher required assistance.

Gemma received a letter from him before the end of the school day, containing a poem devoted to her puppy.

“Most importantly, I know your dog was unique, and your dog is now in a better place, watching over you,” Callum writes in a note.

Gemma chose to read the letter at home since she needed to be alone with her emotions that day.

“I eventually cried when I read it on my lonesome and then with my family,” she says.

Lucy, Gemma’s 20-year-old daughter, was so moved by the boy’s gesture that she shared a photo of the letter on Twitter.

The post went viral another morning, with over 25,000 retweets.

“The oddest thing,” Gemma adds, “is that people wrote to me as if they knew Charlie.”

“He was just our huge pet dog, and then the rest of the world found out who he was.” “Everyone was sympathetic.”

When she arrived at school, she praised Callum for his help in front of the entire class, describing him as an example of how people should treat one another.
