Nothing can separate a mother’s love from her child.
This anecdote is a perfect example of that. Even when a stray dog was severely injured by a vehicle, she took great care of her children. Despite the fact that her leg was broken and walking was difficult, if not unattainable, she continued to go about with her puppies, making sure they were fed and cared for.
The streets are a hazardous environment. Especially on congested highways with fast-moving traffic. In order to get food, water, and shelter, dogs are forced to cross such roadways. Many people are hit and suffer life-altering injuries as a result of their injuries. Strays are frequent in impoverished areas, and many are let to continue even if they are injured.
When she was discovered by a rescue organization, this mother dog continued to nurse her pups despite the fact that sitting was unpleasant for her. Given how frequently puppies are rejected, she never pushed them away! Mama kept her two pups clean with her kisses and followed them around despite her leg being wounded in several places.
Rescuers eventually arrived and transported the tiny family to their facility. Mama needed surgery, according to the vet, who took x-rays. This was expensive, and the rescue group had to pool all of their resources to cover the costs. Thanks to donations, Mama was able to have her surgery the next day. The puppies were well-behaved, and volunteers kept a watch on them.
Mama never complained about the operation because it went well. Despite being on pain medication, she was a soldier even when she was sleepy and in agony! Her new human friends were amazed that she was so friendly and accepting despite having spent her entire life on the street, being ignored.
Mama’s pups were brought to her after she had recovered from her leg injury and was in a cast. They were ecstatic to learn that their mother had survived. They nestled up against her after she kissed them. The small family slept while the volunteers stayed the night.
Mama and her children were soon placed in a foster home. She’ll stay there for a bit while she recovers, and then she and her puppies will be up for adoption.
