While we may not be able to control the stray animal population, we can help in any manner we can. What irritates us the most is that numerous people passed by this helpless puppy for days and did nothing to assist him. He was sick and alone, and he was exposed to the elements.
Even when some ‘kinder’ individuals left him food, he was still in danger.
The despondent dog curled up in a cardboard cage as the meal in front of him decayed. He shivered from the cold. It was beyond words heartbreaking. Thankfully, someone with a good heart arrived. She snatched him up and drove him straight to the vet. She gave Helu a name as well.
Helu was subjected to a battery of tests by the veterinarian. He had a pulmonary effusion at the time.
The veterinarian put Helu through a series of tests. He was suffering from a pulmonary effusion. It was a hazardous condition, and he had to stay in the hospital for several days. According to the vet, Helu would be well-cared for. He was true to his word!
Helu’s savior reappeared a few days later to return him to his family. Helu has significantly improved! He is able to walk on a leash. He remembers his savior and is relieved to see him again. It is at this point that his savior decides to adopt him legally. She can’t take the thought of not having him in her life.
Helu will never have to worry about his next meal or whether he will have a place to sleep. Because of a great woman who would never desert him, he would always have a lot of affection.
