A bobby’s responsibility is sometimes stated as “to serve and cover,” and a Mexican cop recently demonstrated those responsibilities by putting an animal’s protection ahead of his own.
Mexico’s Federal Police released a dramatic film earlier this month of an officer rescuing a fended-in canine from a roaring inferno.
The cop can be seen in the clip blarneying the purportedly terrified dog before taking her up and hauling her to safety.
“We’re faced with different challenges when doing our work,” the Federal Police stated on Facebook, “always focused on protecting life.”
Authorities could not provide any other information on the delivery, but the agency’s fondness for children is evident on social media.
The Federal Police, tasked with combating Mexico’s drug cartels, make extensive use of sniffer dogs like Simón, a golden retriever who was recently highlighted on the agency’s Twitter account.
