A miracle occurred when this poor puppy was abandoned in a park… Read to know what happened to the dog…

Despite the brutal way she was abandoned, a puppy placed in a suitcase and dumped at Wintery Park is in good health. A suitcase was laying on the ground in a Toronto park when joggers noticed it move. When the joggers unzipped the luggage, they discovered a little Jack Russell terrier mix inside. They were on a little-used route in Lambton Park in Etobicoke.

One of the joggers is a fan of Black Dog Rescue, a Canadian animal rescue organization, and he approached them for assistance.

Black Dog Rescue uploaded photos of the abandoned dog in the hopes of discovering the owner, along with the following message:

Do you know who this dog is?

Runners (who also happen to be BDR supporters) came upon a suitcase in Lambton Park, Etobicoke, on Saturday morning [January 4, 2020]. (near the Humber River at Dundas Street West and Scarlett Road). When they got close enough, the suitcase began to move.

Inside, they could hear a dog barking. The luggage had clearly been tossed down the hill above where they discovered it. They were able to track the suitcase’s drag marks for 200 meters after ascending the slope. It led them to the back of the parking lot at Lambton Arena. It’s possible that whoever did this came from nearby housing complexes or drove to the arena’s parking lot to dispose of her.

At this time of year, the area where they were jogging is not too busy. She would have died if it hadn’t been for the fact that the temperature was warmer than usual. It was obvious that she had lately given birth to puppies. She was examined for a microchip but was found to be devoid of one. At Animal Services, she is safe.

The police have been contacted, but there isn’t much they can do unless they uncover evidence on neighboring cameras. As a result, we must identify her owners so that the police can speak with them. Whoever did this to her should be held accountable. She is deserving of nothing less.

Fortunately, the dog does not appear to have been mistreated or neglected. However, dog lovers and officials are baffled by the brutal manner in which she was discarded, pointing out that there are simple and humane ways to surrender a dog to a local shelter. Although some eagle-eyed readers observed an indent around her neck, implying she had had a collar, the dog, who is around 5 to 7 years old, does not have a microchip or ID collar.

The dog is now in the hands of Animal Services and will be examined thoroughly by a veterinarian later this week. She will not be available for adoption in the meantime.
