Three teenage lads from Acadia Parish, Louisiana, were about to have their character tested and, in the process, become local heroes.
The three boys were out on a carefree bike ride around town when they came across a motionless puppy sitting by the side of the road. When the boys discovered him, he was lying absolutely still in the grass with his head down. They all got off their bikes as quickly as they could to investigate the matter further.
As they rode their bikes down the road, three boys noticed something in the grass. The guys, who were in their early teens, recognized that the dog was in danger and intervened quickly. They had no notion how to do it. The dog was unable to move and required medical attention, but it was unclear how long he had been outside.
The guys immediately contacted Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue, who were on the spot quickly. To keep the dog safe from further damage, the boys used their bikes as a temporary barricade, ensuring that no automobiles came too close to the frightened dog.
While they waited, they did everything they could to keep the tiny youngster as calm and comfortable as possible.
The lads noticed the dog was in horrible shape after taking a closer look.
Despite being too fatigued to move, he seemed to realize that the boys were there to assist him. As he looked up at the youngster, his sorrowful eyes always carried a gleam of hope. The rescuers quickly checked the dog’s injuries before loading him into the car. Fortunately, the dog was saved rather quickly once the rescuers arrived.
He was then transferred to a shelter, where he was given pain medication and a closer assessment of his injuries.
With fractures to his leg and hip, his injuries suggested he had been hit by a car. It’s virtually clear that if the courageous guys hadn’t intervened, the puppy would have died alone on the grass. The personnel at the shelter christened the puppy “Wade,” but it was soon revealed that he already had a name and a family.
Taz was his real name, and his family had been looking for him for nearly a week.
When Taz’s grieving family received word that he’d been discovered, they were elated, and Taz was ecstatic to be reunited with the people he cares about. The three boys who had spared their beautiful furbaby’s life were obviously tremendously thankful to the family.
We may all learn from these young boys’ noble gestures by seeking ways to help those in need. What wonderful role models they are for us all.
