Juniper the Pit Bull was discovered as an abandoned bait dog in California. Her body was covered in attack scars, and her teeth had been filed down so she couldn’t fight back.
The owners of the dogfighting ring had abused the 9-year-old canine her entire life.
Juniper accepted a local shelter’s offer to take her in and assist her in regaining her health. Maggie Hull, a 27-year-old Seattle woman, stepped forward to adopt Juniper as soon as she learned about her. She wished for the best for the dog. Juniper’s luck, however, was not on her side.
Juniper had a spinal stroke and was paralyzed from the waist down just 5 months after being adopted. She had surgery and rehab therapies for a year before regaining nerve function. However, difficulties forced her to have one of her legs amputated.
Juniper had also become sick, requiring constant use of doggie diapers. She was on a lot of medications and had a lot of illnesses. From every angle, Juniper’s existence was unfair, but Maggie refused to be a mute witness to the dog’s suffering. Juniper was given a wheelchair for help, and she was encouraged to reclaim her life.
From the moment Maggie received her wheelchair, Maggie observed a significant difference in Juniper. With a newfound enthusiasm for life, the senior dog discovered an adventurous side to her nature and began exploring the world around her!
Juniper is now a cheerful young lady who is always on the move and wears a smile on her face. She has resolved to leave her pain behind and solely count her blessings after going through so much in her life. We are grateful to Maggie for being an angel in Juniper’s life, assisting her in blossoming despite the odds!
