Some of the photographs following may be distressing to some puppy lovers but don’t worry, there is a happy ending.
Kelsey was formerly a stray who wandered the outside of her neighborhood, looking for food, shelter, and, most importantly, someone to love her.
Kelsey was found by the side of the road by a nice woman who knew she didn’t have long to live if she didn’t help her.
That was Kelsey at the time:
She was severely emaciated, seeming to be nothing more than skin and bones with minimal muscular tone. Her fur was mostly gone. She had blisters and sunburns all over her body.
She didn’t even resemble a dog.
Kelsey was excited about finding a person who would love her, as bad as she looked and as bad as her life must have been.
She climbed into her rescuer’s automobile of her own volition.
Kelsey’s new owners finally got a good look at her once she was safely at the veterinarian. Her heart had been beaten both physically and emotionally, but it was apparent that her ability to love had not been destroyed.
The pup’s emaciation became apparent as well. In the photo below, you can see how small she was.
She began to blossom after receiving the care she required.
Her hair began to regrow. She began to interact with the other puppies.
She figured out how to be safe.
Above all, Kelsey discovered what it was like to be loved.
Everybody who helped save this sweet girl’s life deserves a pat on the back!
