The “American Strays Project,” founded by the “World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S),” is a specialized campaign aimed at increasing awareness of stray dogs. During their study for this program, the volunteers came across a heartbreaking sight in a run-down Detroit community.
The volunteers in the video below are following a homeless dog who is traveling from house to house while carrying an empty bowl in his mouth. The dog makes his way through the thorny undergrowth in search of someone who will feed him. However, he has no hope because the location is a vast wasteland that has been abandoned by people.
The sight of the famished dog frantically running about with the saddest look horrified the volunteers. They followed the dog for around five houses before ultimately filling his bowl with food and providing enough water for him to drink. Later, the volunteers ensured that all of the abandoned neighborhood’s homeless animals were cared for.
Many people believe that homeless pets either scavenge for food or are always fed. However, the cruel reality is that they are always in a state of anxiety because their next meal is unknown. We hope that this eye-opening movie inspires people all over the world to keep an eye out for stray dogs in their communities.
