Ox, a 14-year-old dog, had spent his entire life as a loyal companion to his owner. The owner, on the other hand, did not love his human unreservedly. When the owner’s new significant other claimed to be “allergic” to Ox, he didn’t think twice about surrendering this frail senior baby to the local shelter.
Ox’s alarming conduct in his kennel shortly after his owner left shocked the employees at the Humane Society of Hamilton County in Indiana. Ox sobbed like a defeated child as he hung his head from his kennel bed. His heart had been irreversibly damaged, and the staff was well aware that senior dogs like him sometimes lose their will to live and are euthanized.
The sanctuary uploaded Ox’s terrible kennel photo on social media right away, touching the hearts of a large number of people. A woman drove to the shelter and acquired Ox just two hours after seeing the advertisement! Ox’s spirits were raised as he found himself in the embrace of another loving human, despite the fact that he was still in shock from the events of the day.
Ox gradually warmed up to his new family and rediscovered his smile in his new home. He was frequently troubled by thoughts of his prior owner, but he was also relieved that his new mom and human siblings genuinely loved him, took care of him, and were never angry with him.
Ox recognized that he was a beloved pet in his new home, but his heart had never recovered from his earlier desertion and treachery. Ox died in the arms of the woman who brightened his final days six months after his adoption. Ox, we hope you’re doing well now. Sweetheart, may you rest in peace.
