Her family was saved from a fire by a heroic dog… Read to know how…

Bella, a Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu mix, was adopted on Boxing Day and is now living happily with her owners, Nicola and Bradley, and their two daughters.

After putting the girls to bed one December night, Bradley decided to watch a movie while Nicola curled up with Bella.

“As usual, I went to bed with Bella nestled up by my feet,” Nicola explained. “The next thing I knew, Bella was in my face, panting.”

“It was the first time she had done that, but I figured she needed to use the restroom, so I walked downstairs to let her out.” She continued.

When Nicola entered the living room, she noticed dense black smoke and large flames everywhere. When the smoke alarm goes off, Nicola wakes up the girls upstairs and tells them to get out.

Nicola dashed back to the house after the girls were safe, and Bella dashed upstairs. “Bradley had passed out in the chair, so a neighbor assisted me in dragging him outside, and then the Fire Department arrived and raced right in for Bella,” Nicola adds.

Bella and Bradley, on the other hand, were unharmed. Their home was severely damaged, and they had to wait six months to be permitted back in. They discovered that the Christmas tree lights were to blame for the fire.

“It’s hard to imagine what would have happened if Bella hadn’t warned me about the fire. “We’re all here to see another Christmas because of her,” Nicola remarked.
