2 puppies were rescued from a gas station near the Mexican border in July 2020 in Arizona. Sunshine Dog Rescue, a local rescue organization, rushed to the scene to assist the homeless canines. Georgia, one of the dogs, was in desperate need of assistance since she was pregnant.
The dogs were living in a remote gas station near the border of Arizona and Mexico. Georgia, a little shepherd mix, was taken to the veterinarian because she was pregnant. Georgia went into labor after the dogs were placed in foster care.
Georgia’s ordeal was far from done, even after she was rescued. Unfortunately, she was rushed in for an emergency C-section and spayed on August 13th, and she quickly lost all of her babies. Georgia’s situation was really distressing. She was depressed, as were the volunteers and staff at the shelter.
Georgia was heartbroken by the loss of her children. The vet discovered some lesions in her uterus and decided to perform a biopsy to determine what was really wrong with Georgia.
Thank goodness Georgia was in such good hands; in the meantime, the shelter came up with the brilliant concept of Georgia showering her maternal instincts on worthy new lives.
Georgia was taken to view three orphan kittens whose mother had died in childbirth. Anita presented one of the kittens to the bereaved mother and began inspecting them. This isn’t a typical occurrence, and it doesn’t always work, but they hoped for the best. Georgia would have someone to look after her, and the kittens would have a mother.
Georgia was diagnosed with cancer after her biopsy returned, but it is a curable condition, so she will begin treatment as soon as the kittens were old enough to be weaned.
Georgia has regained her happiness, and she will soon be fully recovered!
