Meet Lamb Chomp, a beautiful Maltese rescue dog who was named the World’s Cutest Rescue Dog in 2020 after beating out 10,000 other gorgeous canines in the competition.
She’s earned a year’s supply of PEDIGREE® Brand dog food, as well as $1,000 (£771) to donate to the animal sanctuary of her choice, and she’ll even be on Good Morning America.
Lamb Chomp spent her early years in a puppy mill, where she was pushed to perform several births and then neglected. Finally, she was rescued and cared for by a Wisconsin-based shelter. She was adopted and given a home and affection by a woman named Christin Schubert.
Lamb Chomp’s teeth were removed after adoption due to maltreatment. She also had treatment for medical issues such as cauliflower ear and a tumor. Lamb Chop’s expenditures were covered by the Washington County Humane Society before she was adopted.
She, too, was anxious, and Christin did everything she could to ensure the puppy’s happiness. She progressively overcomes her fears and lack of trust.
This brave dog and her owner collaborated with Bailing Out Benji, a non-profit that exposes the link between pet retailers and puppy mills while also educating people on how to adopt instead.
‘We always say that the public needs to cease subsidizing puppy mills through their purchases in order for them to close,’ Christin explains.
She went on to say, ‘Lamb Chop has a wonderfully lovely face in an awful industry.’
