When a woman sees a picture of a shelter dog with the saddest eyes, she decides to…

Lauren Smith Greeno had 3 dogs at the time.

But she realized there was room for one more in her home and in her heart.

The woman combed through the websites of shelters day after day, hoping to find someone who would touch her heart.

Her heart skipped a beat as she spotted Ginnie.

“I felt a strong bond with her right away. “All I wanted to do was hug her.”

The woman recognized she had found the one she had been longing for so long when those enormous, mournful eyes seemed to look deep into the soul.

Before the shelter, Ginnie had spent her entire life in the yard on a leash so short that she couldn’t lie down.

She was never taken for walks, she had no idea what it meant to “play,” and she was never allowed to sit on a nice sofa.

For bad dogs, her existence was a living hell.

Ginnie’s littermates were snatched up right away.

She spent six months in the shelter, and no one was interested in a small puppy.

Lauren claims that Ginnie’s friendliness grabbed her from the first meeting – the dog is eager to cuddle with everyone who pays her attention.

Lauren still intended for her house to serve as Ginnie’s temporary residence, a pit stop on the path to a better future. She rapidly understood, however, that she could never abandon her.

Lauren sat the dog in the rear seat of the car to give herself more personal space.

Ginnie, on the other hand, leaped into her rescuer’s lap and began licking her face as soon as the car moved. Lauren had utterly melted.

She was in tears from exhaustion. Ginnie’s story was really moving.

Lauren started to introduce the new girl to her three tailed friends when she returned home with a new family member.

Despite her initial intimidation, Ginnie quickly settled in.

Lauren welcomed Ginnie into the bedroom on the second day.

The woman sat on the bed, patting the pillow beside her.

The dog simply jumped onto the bed with no fear, perfect trust, and then collapsed as though knocked down.

She breathed a sigh of relief as soon as the dog’s head struck the cushion.

She was just lying there with her eyes wide open, looking astonished but also sincerely delighted.

Lauren eventually recognized Ginnie had found a home at that point.
