A rescue squad was alerted to an injured stray wandering around the surrounding area. This wasn’t a typical phone call. To get off the streets, the stray dog needs more than just rescuing. He had to be saved or he would perish. The stray’s head was encased in a jar, making feeding and drinking difficult. The poor puppy was suffocating from lack of oxygen!
Rescuers tried to grab the puppy, but he kept running until he slumped beneath a bridge. The animal rescuers felt they had no choice but to use a compassionate tranquilizer dart to calm the dog down. After getting shot by the dart, he dashed off again, this time into a busy street. Cars whizzed by, sirens blasting. The rescuers were on his tail. The fatigued dog sat down and waited for help once the anesthesia wore off.
Finally, the dog was carefully lifted and the jar was removed from his head using special equipment. Despite being drugged and sleepy, the dog was able to convey his gratitude to his rescuers with a few licks. Now that the puppy was in good care, it was loaded into their vehicle. He was taken back to the shelter.
He was ecstatic to be served a nice meal and a glass of freshwater. After the rescue organization posted his story on social media, adopters came up to see him. He had found his permanent home in just a few days!
The sequel follows another dog that finds himself in a similar situation. Because stray animals are so hungry, they frequently get their heads stuck in jars. It’s heartbreaking, to say the least. This unfortunate dog had been going about with his head locked inside a plastic jug for more than two weeks!
The rescue squad had to track him down after he ran away from them several times. They got lucky and cornered him in a large area. He eventually submitted to the friendly humans, knowing he had little vitality left. They also used a novel method to get him out of the container. He is now safe and sound and has returned to their safe haven. We’re relieved that neither dog was hurt!
