A retired police dog can’t stop crying after his old handler decides to pay him a visit on the spur of the moment. The touching encounter was captured on film, and it made netizens’ hearts melt.
Wangwang, an 8-year-old German Shepherd Dog, works as a sniffer dog during a security check-in in Xichuan County, China. However, in June 2019, the loyal dog retired, and she and her handler had to separate ways.
Wangwang’s manager keeps his job as a patrol officer while Wangwang is adopted by a loving family. So, last month, while patrolling the area, he ran into his former fur companion and decided to pay her a visit.
They enjoyed a happy reunion, but Wangwang couldn’t hold back her tears when she saw the man she adored. In a lovely video shared by Xichuan police on Douyin, China’s counterpart of TikTok, the retired dog is shown running around cheerfully beside her handler. The tears started to pour after that!
“Wangwang’s hair turned white,” Douyin wrote, “but she ate a lot and gained weight.” “It’s never easy to say goodbye to friends.”
This reunion moved everyone on the internet. “Dogs are loyal companions; please treat them with respect!” One of the users made a comment. One person stated, “It can be emphasized how much Wangwang misses her management.” It’s a positive sign when the dog licks your stomach.
