Norman was surrendered to an animal sanctuary after his prior owner abandoned him. He was rescued from the facility the day before he was to be executed by Annette and Steve McDonald.

Norman became completely blind after a few years, yet his disability had no effect on his survival. He’s adapted well to his new situation and can still run and play like any other puppy his age. Then, as Norman and his owner Annette walked down the beach, they noticed a petite woman named Lisa Nibley crying for aid in the water. At that precise moment, this brave canine realized exactly what he needed to do.
