While his military father, Devin Ekstom, was abroad for basic army training, Indus, a two-year-old Husky/Malamute/Timber Wolf mix, hadn’t seen him in ten weeks.
Ekstom was able to spend the holidays with his family, but Indus had no idea that his human was about to surprise him.
Morgan, Devin’s wife, captured the surprise reunion on camera at Devin’s parents’ home in Northwood, New Hampshire, and it’ll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Indus turns around to see who he believes is a stranger approaching his driveway and starts barking at him. But as he draws closer and smells his own fragrance, he knows that this is his army father, not a stranger!
Indus leaps on him and smothers him in kisses as soon as he discovers it’s him. He wiggles his tail and walks in circles, unable to conceal his delight.
While ten weeks may not seem like a long time to us, Indus felt like he had been apart from his greatest friend for a lifetime. Devin was overjoyed to see his furbaby again, and he expressed his gratitude for the affection Indus showed him throughout their reunion.
