A home is found for a stray shelter dog who was separated from his bowl…

Slim, a lonesome shelter dog who has been on the waiting list for almost a year, has a favorite toy: a bucket! According to Rescue Me Ohio, Slim “loves his pail and is lost without it!!”

Slim was saved from an abandoned residence in December 2014. When the Pit Bull mix was sent to the Ashland County Dog Shelter in Ohio, he was underweight and afraid, and he has remained there ever since.

Rescue Me from Ohio writes:

“He’s a Pit Bull mix, maybe 4 to 5 years old.” He is vivacious and charming. He had some food guarding difficulties, which the shelter staff and volunteers helped him resolve, and he has made significant progress.

He enjoys playing and being the center of attention. He’s also a big dog who doesn’t always behave on the leash. In the shelter, he is worried and has damaged the majority of the toys supplied to him. His Bucket, on the other hand, is his favorite toy!!!

He is completely devoted to his bucket and would be lost without it!! For a treat, he sits like a gentleman and accepts them so graciously. He’ll need a place to live where he can continue to practice his manners. Slim needs a rescue to take him in and give him time to unwind after being in the shelter for so long.”

After waiting a little longer with his bucket, Slim was placed into foster care by Forget Me Not Animal Rescue at the end of October 2015. They took him in and started training him while looking for him a permanent home.

Slim hasn’t had time to play with his bucket because he’s been having so much fun with his new foster family. He is content in his bed. He appreciates the attention he is getting.
