LB has a lot of experience with animals and knows how to handle them. She wanted to help the 2 pound Great Dane puppy when she heard about it. The dog’s paws were curled over like a ballerina’s toes when he was born. He was given the name Forrest after Forrest Gump by the woman.
The unfortunate puppy grew up quickly, but with each pound gained, walking became more difficult. LB called a number of veterinarians, but received the same response. One of the clinics soon informed her of a dog named Lumen.
Lumen was having the same issue as Forrest. Fortunately, his owners found a doctor who was able to operate on the paws and repair them. The dog had been put down at the same facility in Tijuana. But he was soon adopted and even healed by caring people. Lumen’s owner introduced LB to their Oregon State veterinarian.
LB and her puppy were soon on their way to meet Lumen’s veterinarians in San Diego, California, and then Eugene, Oregon. Forrest was supposed to spend a few months there, but he had a lot of foster parents, included Lumen’s owners. Forrest and Lumen were close friends.
The dog began to recuperate after surgery on all four paws. He was ready to return to his darling LB and meet her new lover Tyler 5 months later. Tyler and Forret became fast friends, and the man eventually adopted the large, obnoxious Great Dane.
