Dogs can help us get through difficult periods in our life because of their unending optimism and source of joy. And now and then, we get the chance to repay the favor and assist them.

As a result, expect to meet Nora, a dog, and Archie, an 11-month-old baby. These two have been best friends since the day they encountered, and their story will make you smile while reminding you of the power of a human-dog bond.

But first, let’s go through the fundamentals. Nora, you see, didn’t have a particularly happy childhood. In truth, it was the exact opposite. Nora was raised in an abusive household and as a result has endured serious emotional damage. After years of abuse, Nora was scared of almost everything and everyone. The dog would attack everyone who approached her because she was terrified.

Archie’s mom, Elizabeth Spence, told the Dodo, “You’re likely to find a bunch of kids, cats, and/or dogs napping about the home anywhere at any time of day.”

That is, until she met the baby, Archie. Nora immediately accepted the baby and the two became almost inseparable after that. Nora was first captivated to the baby due of his laid-back personality, and their friendship became stronger over time.

“Archie is a very laid-back, joyful, good-natured baby, and all of the pets, especially Nora, seem to respond to that,” added Spence. “She is frightened of nearly everything because she comes from a violent household.” Not Archie, though. She adores him to the core!”

Most likely, the baby provides Nora with the sense of comfort and safety she requires to overcome her difficult history. What a charming couple!
