Buddy, a dog, created subtitles after being the victim of a horrific burn incident perpetrated by a youngster, which left his face permanently scarred.
But this dog hasn’t lost his spirit, and he’s made an incredible recovery over the last few months — and now, his new owner has confirmed that Buddy is “fully cured” and doing fine.

Buddy began making captions in April of last year, after being set on fire and returning home with horrific burns on his face. His flesh was burnt, and the pain was so intense that his eyes were blasted shut, rendering him blind. He also wore an extension cable around his neck, which he claimed was used to restrain him.
The assailant of the horrific crime was later identified as a child, who confessed to setting the dog on fire but was unable to be charged due to Mississippi law, which specifies that no child under the age of 12 can be charged.
Buddy’s injuries were so severe that he had to be given to the Tunica Humane Society for care. His stagers were taken aback by the situation and told him that the dog had a long path ahead of him, noting that his “prognostic isn’t good right now.”
Sandy Williams, director of the Tunica Humane Society, told FOX 13 that “it’s incomprehensible that someone could be so wrong.” Buddy was a very pleasant and non-threatening dog. He followed the neighborhood kids everywhere.”
Dr. Elizabeth Swanson, associate professor and veterinary surgeon, told WTVA, “Buddy’s vital signs are okay but, as with any burn case, this is veritably the bottom of an altitudinous mountain to be climbed.”
Buddy was later brought to Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine for more treatment, and stagers were impressed by his cheerful attitude in the face of adversity.
In an update, the Humane Society stated, “He was in excellent spirits, wagging his tail, and veritably joined.”
Buddy’s condition improved over time. Buddy was unable to see due to the tapes wrapped over his head, but stagers were relieved to learn that the becks had not injured his eyelids.
The Humane Society posted on Facebook, “He continues to move forward daily.” ” Previously, Noway had disappointed his croakers. The results of his skin grafts have been praised by all parties involved. Burn injuries take a long time to heal, but Buddy is speeding up the process.”
He demonstrated great improvement in the appearance of his face during his girth change. Buddy is learning some basic commands as he continues to recuperate.”
Buddy had undergone skin grafts after months of progress, allowing him to wear smaller tapes and slowly recover to his previous tone.
” Now that his mind is free of the cassettes, he’s more happier and more athletic. Last July, the Tunica Humane Society said, “I’m sure he’s feeling so much important delight as he sluggishly puts his life back to normal.”
Buddy turned a huge turning last August when the tapes on his face were finally removed, allowing him to see for the first time in months.
The Humane Society wrote, “His eyes were truly awake and he was veritably apprehensive.” “Yes, Buddy can still see, in response to your tens of thousands of prayers.”
” Buddy’s last real memory of vision was in the final terrifying moments before a child set fire to his face. This dog’s entire existence altered in the twinkling of an eye.”
For this sad dog, just being able to see was a significant step toward returning to normalcy, and his caregivers believe his personality has begun to emerge again.
“Since seeing the light of day, Buddy’s entire personality has changed,” Sandy Williams, director of the Tunica Humane Society, told WREG.
” He’s cheerful and athletic, going around the sanitarium with a large ball in his mouth. He’s crazy about balls. He carries them about with him so that everyone can see them.”
And recently, when Buddy was badly burned, the Humane Society issued another encouraging update, stating that Buddy is now “fully cured.”
Buddy has been in a foster home with Dr. Swanson, and the vet confirmed that Buddy is having a good time.
The Tunica Humane Society noted, “His face is now entirely healed.” ” He no longer has to wear an e-collar, which he enjoys! His days are now spent as any other dog’s. Playing fetch, going for long walks, and being putrefied for the magnificent canine that he is!”
“Buddy’s amazing recovery from his near-fatal injuries is truly a Phenomenon, and all of Buddy’s carers should be quite proud.”
Buddy’s veterinarians at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine commemorated the event with a reunion with their case and a celebration of Buddy’s recovery.
“He’s thriving in his foster home, despite numerous operations, leverages from everyone in the sanitarium, and recent cost games!” In a Facebook post, the council included a print of all the vet workers with the happy and healed Buddy.
