Dogs become homeless for a variety of reasons. They are frequently misplaced, and we make every effort to reunite them with their family. A dog showed up at a family’s house one day, insisting on entering. To say “hi,” she crawled beneath their backyard gate.
Her spouse felt she was quite cute. She was wearing a collar, but it was frayed. The dog was not popular with the wife, who wanted her to depart. She’d bring her own dogs inside because she was frightened the strange dog might attack them. But there wasn’t a mean or aggressive bone in the dog’s body!
She belonged to someone in the area or a neighboring town, the couple reasoned. When she came by, the husband continued to greet her, but the wife became irritated. She considered herself a nuisance.
The thoughtful husband suggested writing a note to her owner and attaching a camera on her so they could track her whereabouts. That’s when a tragic situation occurred.
They could see from the film that the sweet dog was unwanted everywhere she went. She was escorted away from their premises. Some of the neighbors could be heard shouting at her to leave. It was a disaster. This beautiful dog only wants to be loved.
The couple asked their veterinarian to come over and check on her health and offer any recommendations. He approached the dog and studied it. Because she was so well-behaved and personable, he was positive she belonged to someone. He explains to the couple that this dog is accustomed to being petted and shown affection, which is why she is so loving in return.
Every day, she smiles as she crawls beneath their barrier. Who could possibly refuse her?
Finally, the wife changes her mind. She felt awful for the dog after seeing the footage of everyone shooing the dog away and hearing what the vet had to say. She and her husband agree to keep the dog and care for her until her owner can be discovered. If her owner cannot be located, they will keep her and adopt her.
Even though the wife was initially difficult, we are glad she changed her mind. The complete story can be found below. It contains some goofy music and graphics, but the fundamental message is important: never expect anything. First, love, then ask questions!
