Harris, unfortunately, had not been abandoned. He had been horribly mistreated and neglected. What motivates someone to harm such a beautiful creature is a mystery to us. Thankfully, there are far more good people than bad in our earth. As you can see, Harris has many friends along the way who are willing to go to any length to assure his happiness and health.
Harris was knocked out when he entered the room. Medical professionals treated his wounds provided him intravenous fluids and pain medications. The volunteers sat by him, waiting for the adorable little boy to respond. It was only a matter of waiting now…
Knowing that maintaining a fighting spirit and staying psychologically strong is an important part of recovery, the staff at SR created a sign for Harris to remind him that he is loved, that his life counts, and most importantly, that he is brave!
When it became evident that Harris was having trouble coping, a shelter volunteer decided to spend the night with him. See! We warned you that there are many more good people in the world than bad people!
Harris initially had a feeding tube, but after only a few days, he was able to lift his head and eat independently! Look him up online! What a brave little fighter!
In the blink of an eye, Harris is sitting up and getting a bath! Check out how sweet this guy is. That lower lip is hysterical!
Before you know it, Harris has taken his first steps. What a marvel! He needs help at first, but as you can see in the video below, he ultimately walks by himself!
Every day, Harris continues to astound the rescue volunteers with fresh abilities. They didn’t know if he’d make it or not. They hoped, and they never gave up— but Harris’ human companions were always surprised when he did something. He was repeatedly referred to as a miracle. Without a question, he is!
Harris then takes off like the super dog that he is!
Harris continues to make his saviors proud. He’s always smiling, and now he’s much more confident. He’s still recovering, but no one believes that he’ll make a complete recovery and find the ideal permanent home.
