Wade Shapp and his wife were going home from church on Sunday when they came upon a commodity that drove him into the thickets.
” We were driving back to our house on a country road… “I was driving when I noticed a canine’s head come out,” Shapp, a resident of Princeton, Texas, told The Dodo. It’s not uncommon to see ranch pets running down the road when you’re out in the country. But he wasn’t moving and was in a sack, which I observed. That is incomprehensible.
In the yard, a dog is tied in a feed sack.
Shapp and his wife Mandi, who are both big canine suckers, wasted no time. They got out of the car and walked over to the dog.
Shapp described him as “tied up in a feed sack.” ” You could tell it was done on purpose. He didn’t move because there was a rope wrapped around the bottom.”
The couple’s first task was to free the dog from the sack. Shapp explained, “We didn’t have a cutter or anything to cut him out of the sack, so we had to use our auto key.”
They also wrapped him in a fleece and loaded him into their car.
The dog, now named Bubba, expressed gratitude for being rescued while also being concerned. “He was startled,” Shapp added, “and he trembled and fiddled for the first four or five hours that we had him.”
Shapp has no idea how long Bubba was in the feed sack, but he has a feeling it was around 24 hours.
“He stank awful enough,” Shapp remarked. ” He’d pee on each other and stuff them all over him.”
Bubba was driven back to the Shapps’ home. They cleaned him, fed him, and provided him a comfortable bed.
Bubba finally began to unwind during his wash. Shapp stated, “I felt like that was a significant trust issue.” “I’m sure he knows we rescued him.”
The next day, they took him to the veterinarian. While Bubba seemed to be in good health, they were surprised to find a projectile crack on the inside of his upper leg.
“I’m not sure how I missed that because it’s quite enormous,” Shapp explained. ” There was no blood in the bag, but I’m certain notoriety shot him with the hopes of killing him, but that didn’t work, so they just discarded him.”
Dallas DogRRR, a canine rescue organization, will assist Bubba in finding his forever home. But the Shapps aren’t about to let him go; they’ll care for him till he feels better.
Bubba gets along splendidly with Isabella and Dixie, the Shapps’ other dogs. “Bubba is a family member,” Shapp explained. ” They get along well enough.”
But it’s possible that Bubba’s strongest link is with Shapp. Shapp brings Bubba to work with him every day, and Bubba follows him around everywhere. “He follows me around, stumbling around on his small legs,” Shapp explained.
Bubba with the Shapps’ other pets, Isabella and Dixie, are all on the kitchen floor together.
Bubba’s flexibility astounds Shapp, and he doesn’t think he’ll have any trouble finding the perfect home when the time comes.
” He’s a tough little guy for having to go through everything he did. “It’s enough to amaze me that he would place all of his trust in somebody different after what he’s been through,” Shapp added…
