Mubi the drill monkey had the most traumatic experience at the Port Lympne Animal Park near Canterbury, Kent, shortly after her birth. Yola, the ailing baby’s mother, immediately rejected her and continued to abuse her. Mubi was eventually rescued by zookeeper Simon Jeffrey before the attacks killed her.
Simon realized that this unfortunate animal had nowhere to go, so he decided to find a warm area for baby Mubi to sleep. He didn’t think twice about taking Mubi home.
Simon was not alone; he had two Jack Russell puppies, Iain and Daisy, with him. They embraced their new friend right away and welcomed Mubi into the “pack.” Simon was taken aback by how nicely the three of them got along.
Mubi grew into an intriguing and confident female youngster over the next few weeks. Throughout the day, she would keep Simon near while he completed his duties at the zoo.
Mubi would hurry to her best buddies as soon as she returned home and instantly begin playing with them.
Mubi and her puppy siblings are now about two months old, and their personalities have merged beautifully.
Simon outlines the complexities of this young monkey’s unique care routine, as well as the potential of her being released into the wild, in this video.
