Her hind legs were likewise tied together with a shoelace. When people found out about Motery, they were devastated. How could somebody treat an animal so cruelly? It’s beyond comprehension.
Motery (sometimes referred to as Mo) is a victim. She is a victim of not only animal cruelty and mistreatment but also the illicit dog meat trade. Despite the fact that dog meat farms are illegal in Bali, they continue to exist. Mo’s saviors believe she escaped slaughter by jumping off a moving truck on its way to the farm. Since then, she’d been traveling alone.
With her back legs bound and her lips sealed, it’s a miracle she’s still alive. Her rescuers took Mo to a neighboring vet clinic so she could receive the care she needed. Mo was very malnourished and dehydrated as a result of his inability to eat or drink. She needed IV fluids and supplemental nourishment to regain her strength.
According to the veterinarian, Mo is only five months old. She’s barely two years old! Her lips were sealed tight, resulting in a terrible illness. Her doctor has ordered antibiotics. When it came time to take the tape out of her mouth, everyone held their breath. They anticipated her being afraid. She was thankfully given pain medication as well as light sedation. The dog was a true professional!
In a period of weeks, Mo gained weight. Everyone could see her determination. She only had love to give, despite having been mistreated. It was quite inspiring. Her ability to forgive humans for such awful crime exemplifies her singularity.
For the first time, Mo was able to feed herself. Regardless, the veterinarian determined that she would need snout surgery. In order to live as regularly as possible, she needed skin graphing and reconstructive surgery. She’d be able to eat more readily and even play like a puppy! Mo didn’t only go through surgery; she went above and above!
Mo’s rescuers were worried that her appearance would deter potential adopters. They were also concerned that Mo, who had become accustomed to the vet clinic, might find it difficult to adjust to life in a forever home. Fortunately, adoption applications rushed in after Mo’s story was shared on social media.
A kind pair wrote a lovely note to Mo’s rescuers. Their application was surely raised to the top! Mo’s rescuers called the couple and asked if they wanted to meet him. Everyone was nervous. Mo had been through a lot, and while she was beautiful, she was wary of strangers…
